The Hypnotist — review

It begins with the murder of a family and a broken promise.

The Hypnotist“>

When Detective Inspector Joona Linna is called to investigate the murder of an entire family he finds that one family member, a young boy, is holding onto life by a thread. He also discovers that an older sister wasn’t at home when the murders happened and she might be in danger. He is desperate to interview the boy, to find out if he can provide clues that might save his sister, but the boy is gravely wounded and in a deep state of shock.

He calls upon Dr. Eric Bark, a psychotherapist and disgraced hypnotist to assist him.

Bark vowed years ago to never use hypnosis again, but he breaks that vow in the hopes of saving the older sister of the massacred family.

Dr. Bark’s decision sets an entirely different set of people at risk, including his own son.

A powerful novel.

I write historical fiction, mostly from the perspective of young people who are thrust in the midst of war.
