Prisoners in the Promised Land will be coming out in a French edition on December 1. Here’s what it will look like:

I can imagine. You must have some of your novels published in Ukrainian, don’t you? That would be cool given that the language is so different from ours. (And how much cooler to have a novel in Arabic or Hebrew? But I digress.)
My two folk tale picture books, Enough and Silver Threads, have both been published in Ukrainian language editions. Silver Threads and Kobzar’s Children have been sold in Korean. I don’t have the copy of Kobzar’s Children in Korean yet, but got the Korean Silver Threads a couple of months ago. It’s really neat to see.
There’s an inexpensive newsprint edition of Enough being produced by a British Ukrainian group and being distributed at no cost to school children in Ukraine to educate them about the Holodomor. Many people still don’t know what happened in their own country because Soviet propaganda has had such long-lasting effects. Michael and I both waived our royalties for this edition to become a reality, and my publisher and agent waived their rights so the cost was doable for the charitable group. Pretty nifty that a Canadian book will be teaching Ukrainian kids about what happened to their own ancestors.
That’s very cool. Enough is a great story. I’m glad that Ukrainian kids will get to discover that for themselves.
