poster from kids

I got a nifty package in the mail a few weeks ago from the Ontario Library Association. It was a big poster for Aram’s Choice, signed by a bunch of students. Here it is:

Author: Marsha

I write historical fiction, mostly from the perspective of young people who are thrust in the midst of war.

I would like to thank you for bringing to life the story of my grandmother Mary Manko Haskett. I am sure that the book will invite young readers to hopefully learn from our past mistakes. As both a teacher and parent, it is these tyopes of stories that pull on our hearts to initiate change. Well done

      Dear Cathy,
Thank you so much for contacting me. Like you, I am the granddaughter of an internee. I hope that my novel will help readers step into the shoes of an interned child and feel what it was like for your grandmother to be treated the way that she was.
