I had the pleasure to be one of the judges for this year’s Scholastic “Kids are Authors” contest. Classroom groups from across the country submitted mock-ups of picture books written and illustrated by the students themselves. It was such an enjoyable day, reading through the entries. And the grand winner is:
No Kids Allowed
A hilarious story about a couple of students who try to crack the mystery of what’s behind the staff room door.
This book was written and illustrated by Grade 3 students from Kleefeld School in Kleefeld, MB and their book is now published by Scholastic Canada! Congratulations Kleefeld!!!!
Awesome!
I love those books — Scholastic has that program here in the US, too.

Re: Awesome!
It’s a great program, and so rewarding for the kids to see their work published!
