After writing that last journal entry, I hunkered down and started to write. This is an early chapter book I’m writing, so I’ve got to get the whole thing done in 10,000 words or less. Easier said than done, especially when it’s historical. After deleting much, I’m at 1300 words, which is fantabulous!! I’m off and running! The first few scenes are always the hardest.

You go girl!
Anita
How’s your writing going? Did you start your new YA?
Not exactly, but I did get started on rethinking and reworking the storyline. Basically, I have softened the butter, measured the sugar, pulled out the beaters, and am ready.
Before I get too deeply into it I have to deliver a CBC book review (still have to read the book), and return my latest set of revisions on Racing for Diamonds (which I finished while in Toronto this weekend).
I’m itching to get at the new one, which is a very good sign.
Hi Anita,
You haven’t even made the cake and you’ve got a full plate!
Yes, itching for the new one is a very good sign. Hope you can get your plate cleared soon!
Good for you Marsha!
I’m gonna hunker down this week, I have three writing days. Sweet!

3 writing days? That’s awesome, Hélène!!!
The kids usually have 2 or 3 school days a week on an alternating schedule. I get so much more done on a 3 day week as you can imagine. Two days so far and 2,500 words into my SFD (Sh!tty first draft). 🙂
That’s fabulous, Helene! Even SFDs are a joy to write.
