Aram’s Choice nominated for the Silver Birch!

Aram’s Choice has been nominated for the Silver Birch Award!

Here’s a blurb about the reading program:

The Ontario Library Association Silver Birch Award™ reading program, now in its fourteenth year, is created and promoted to students and readers ages 8 to 11 in Grades 3 to 6.  The number of participants over the last few years has been outstanding.  Last year, over 200,000 students in 1000+ school and public libraries across Ontario participated in the Forest of Reading Award® Programs.

I write historical fiction, mostly from the perspective of young people who are thrust in the midst of war.

  3. Awesome News!

Way to go, Marsha! Fingers crossed for the results. By the way, I’ve just loaded this blog and your Kobzar blog into my new Google reader — that way every time you post, I’ll get to see it!

Thanks, karen! I’m really thrilled. And you know, it probably sounds silly to say this, but I don’t really care who wins. For this whole school year, kids will be reading a bunch of new books and debating amongst themselves about which one they like best. Had there been a program like that when I was a kid, I wouldn’t have opted out of reading til I was 9.

And tell me about this new google reader. I don’t see it on my google page.
